All in the Name

All in the Name

Bocce has endeared itself (when it wasn’t being outlawed in Renaissance Italy) to players across the world and through the ages. It has evolved from being a crude sport played with rounded rocks, wooden balls and even coconuts, to the modern game with composite or metal balls. And apparently, wherever it goes, it gets a new name. Aside from the classic “Bocce” it’s been called Lawn Bowling, Boules, Bowls, Nine Pins, Skittles, Petanque, and a lot more. As for Beach Bocce Ball, we hope it becomes a classic too – for the excellent alliteration at least.
